First CE of 2024 is a Two for One Deal

Snacks will be provided and the venue will also have a cash bar for both beverages and food!


Topic: Changing the Game: Orthopedic Care in 2024


Speaker: Eric Hoots, DVM, MS, DACVS

Dr. Hoots graduated from the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 and completed a combined surgical residency/master's degree at Kansas State University in 2007. Board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, Dr. Hoots held positions in academia and private practice before settling in the Pacific Northwest. He founded Veterinary Surgical Center to provide locally owned and operated specialty surgical care for pets of the Puget Sound region. He resides in

University Place with his wife, Dr. Emily Hoots, their daughter, and myriad pets. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, playing golf, grilling/smoking meats, gardening, and watching football.


Topic: Mitral Valve Disease: Navigating new interventions and considerations for advanced care


Speaker: Bryan Eason, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. Eason graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2011 with his DVM degree. He then spent two years at the University of Missouri completing a rotating medicine and surgery internship followed by a cardiology specialty internship with a research focus on canine subaortic stenosis. He then went on to complete a residency and master’s degree at Purdue University. After completing board certification in cardiology, he moved out to the Pacific Northwest in 2016. In 2019, Dr. Eason founded Evergreen Veterinary Cardiology, a locally owned and operated mobile specialty practice with the goal of being able to provide access to specialty care to those who otherwise might not be able to pursue it. Evergreen

Veterinary Cardiology operates from Olympia to Everett. He lives in Mill Creek, WA with his wife, Dr. Jennifer Spooner, and their daughter.

Feel free to come early for a bit of a social time prior to the start of the CE.

In other other news!

We will be starting our annual membership with this first 2024 event. Those that would

like to pay for the annual membership at this event please come in a little early so we

can get the lecture started on time. As previously, for those that were prior PVMA

members, membership gets you free access to all lectures for the year, a vote for any

board membership positions or put motions to the board for a vote.


Membership has been extended to all licensed LVT’s, with a position being opened up

on the board for an LVT Liaison. Stay tuned for further details on this.


Annual Dues:

Licensed DVM Annual Membership: $75.00

Licensed LVT Annual Membership: $50.00

Individual Lecture (1-2 hr. CE) Attendance:

Licensed DVM: $35.00

Any non-DVM hospital staff member: $15.00

Hands On Workshop individual payment subject to change based on event.


We will be launching a WEBSITE before the upcoming year for dues payment, RSVP, future event notices (don’t worry, you will still get my lovely newsletters), individual event and workshop payments. Stay tuned for the launch before the year is over.
