Introducing our new LVT Liaison
Kacey Veal: Licensed Veterinary Technician with a Passion for Lifelong Learning
Since childhood visits to my grandparents' hobby farm in Georgia, I've known my life would involve animals. That passion led me to veterinary medicine in 2004, and I became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2010.
A thirst for knowledge motivates me to constantly hone my skills. I'm currently pursuing a specialty in Veterinary Technician Clinical Practice with the Academy of Veterinary Technicians. My goal? To share my expertise by delivering continuing education at conferences. Public speaking might give me butterflies, but the chance to empower others and connect with the veterinary community like I do at conferences is a dream worth conquering.
My veterinary heroes are Dr. Sophia Yin and Kara Burns, LVT, VTS. Their dedication to animal welfare and education inspires me to reach for new heights in my own career.

Washington state has also implemented new requirements about health equity continuing education. It's for all health care providers, including veterinarians. It's 2 hours every 4 years for both veterinarians and veterinary technicians. It starts as of January 2024. We will be offering at least 1 hour of CE on this topic towards the end of the year to be in compliance.
